Mechanical Department Leader

Seeking a bright, self-motivated, dedicated and career-minded professional. Responsible for the day-to-day Mechanical Team performance, including personnel administration, project work distribution and planning, intra-office communication and coordination. Provides coaching, training and mentoring to develop staff.  Supervises the preparation of mechanical and plumbing designs.  Serve as Engineer of Record for select projects and signs and seals documents as required.  Ensures staff is following the company QA/QC process. Assists in the Business Development and Marketing efforts including presentations, new client introductions and preparation of qualification submittals. Prepares and reviews fee proposals. Facilitates the preparation and review of monthly invoices. Tracks and facilitates follow-up on Accounts Receivables. Develops and monitors departmental budget including fee projections. Participates in the Corporate planning process.

Minimum qualifications include 15-20 years of proven progressive experience with an MEP Engineering Firm in the design of building related mechanical systems, including a complete mechanical layout of HVAC equipment ductwork, chilled water piping, hot water piping, steam and condensate piping, pumps, chillers, cooling towers and temperature controls systems. It should also include the design of plumbing systems, including a complete plumbing layout of plumbing cold and hot water piping, storm drainage piping, sanitary piping, medical gas and laboratory piping, water heaters and pumps as required for a complete system and associated systems for commercial public and private sector facilities.

Experience should also include construction cost estimating, AutoCAD and a working familiarity of Revit production drawing, development of specifications and construction cost estimating.  Design experience should include a wide variety of facility types and include design quality assurance and quality control.

Senior Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager

Seeking a bright, self-motivated, dedicated and career-minded professional. Independently performs mechanical design tasks as the Project Engineer and/or provides QA/QC Peer Reviews, mentors and develops Staff. Serves as Project Manager and leads multiple Project Design Teams.  Has direct client interface and serves as the single point of contact for assigned projects. Conducts surveys to gather design sketches and engineer’s level construction cost estimates for labor, material and equipment. Prepares designs and specifications for building related mechanical systems, including a complete mechanical layout of HVAC equipment ductwork, chilled water piping, hot water piping, steam and condensate piping, pumps, chillers, cooling towers and temperature controls systems. Prepares designs and specifications for building related plumbing systems, including a complete plumbing layout of plumbing cold and hot water piping, storm drainage piping, sanitary piping, medical gas and laboratory piping, water heaters and pumps as required for a complete system. Indentifies and resolves spatial conflicts between various systems.  Prepares technical reports. When required by project schedule, performs CADD drafting or markup drawings for CADD drafting. Performs analysis and responses to requests for information as required during construction. Collaborates with Engineers, Architects and vendors during data collection and document preparation.  Proactively understands when to obtain information from these and other sources.
