Campos has started 2017 with celebration! Whether on the job site or during their free time, our people have had many reasons to smile.
January kicked off with Campos’ 8th annual chili cook off! The event is always held at Principal Wesley McVey’s home. Several employees bring their best recipes to be judged by their colleagues. The winner then goes on to represent Campos at the TEXO Tailgate in the fall. This year’s winner is Principal, Tony Casagrande! Be sure to stop by Campos’ tent to see Tony and his sous chef (also our former reigning champion) prepare some award-winning chili in October!
Mid-January marked the much-anticipated ribbon cutting for Meacham International Airport’s Administration Building. Campos enjoyed working with HHS and Imperial Construction on this new construction. (Read more about the project and Grand Opening here)
January also presented opportunities for our workfamily culture to shine. Tarleton alum and Campos’ Marketing Coordinator, Nicole Arapis, took our Project Coordinator, Kim Sundberg, and her daughter on a tour of the University’s campus. After learning that Kim’s daughter wanted to pursue a nursing degree, Nicole planned a full day of activities centered around Tarleton’s traditions.
Around that same time, Campos’ Senior Mechanical Engineer, Carl Parsons, was being a supportive mentor to his protégé groups participating in the Future City Competition. Future City is an education program for 6th-8th graders to learn about engineering practices through application. Each group has an engineer mentor to help them build a livable city of the future. Carl mentored two groups who competed in the regional conference this year.
Campos closed out January with a recruitment trip hosted by our client, Texas A&M University. Tony Casagrande, Joseph Campos and Holly Scudder attended the spring career fair and had the privilege of meeting some of the A/E/C industry’s next top talent. It was also exciting to see how many students recognized our project accomplishments on campus, such as the renovation to Kyle Field and the new Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex.
